playing field

I used to own a 1950 Williams shuffle (puck) baseball machine called "double header". I just sold it to a fellow out east, so before he came and picked it up, I shot some photos of it. It has a running man mechanism on top that allows the base runners to move with each 'hit'.

An extrememly complicated system of relays and rotary contactor devices keep track of innings, outs and base runners. A fascinating view of 1950 engineering.... no integrated circuits... all mechanical.

Shot in existing light with a Nikon EM loaded with Ilford HP5 and self developed in Xtol 1:1 dilution.
