Sideyard slope and stairs

Rectangular cut slate used as step pads up the slope, cut into the grade, with Dymondia margaratae ground cover used to hold the dirt from washing onto the pads once it has filled in. The purple foliaged new trees are a newer selection of the Australian Agonis flexuosa 'After Dark' that has become quite popular here in California. These trees are replacements for some Purple leafed Plums that just grew too big, required constant thinning, blocked views of the bay for the upslope neighbors, and to be honest. I just don't much like them, kind of old fashioned and trite.
