Llactapata, Inca Trail
Walk pass Llactapata. The lower terraced walls are particularly beautiful as they snake back and forth, following the contours of the river. Llactapata was primarily an agricultural station used to supply Machu Picchu with maize, the staple crop of the Incas. The settlement comprised over one hundred houses for the workers and soldiers, including five baths.
