Airlift Service was a Macedonian airline founded in 2008 after the demise of former flag carrier MAT Macedonian Airways. It operated two Boeing 737-300s on scheduled flights from Skopje and Ohrid to Western Europe, using the virtual Skywings International brand to market and sell tickets directly to passengers.
Z3-AAJ was one of the two 737s in service, and was painted up in full Skywings International colours. As such it was seen taxiing on Alpha for a runway 28 departure on flight LFM212 to Ohrid.
Z3-AAJ was built in 1987 for Norway Airlines, but not taken up and instead delivered to Monarch Airlines. After a varied career across Europe and Brazil, the 737 was acquired by Hamburg International in 2006, and leased to Airlift Service in July 2009. When the company went bankrupt in early 2011, the 737 was sold to the USA, and eventually landed at Magnicharters in México, its last operator. In 2022 it was retired at Orlando-Sanford, and broken-up there in 2024.
