Swiss charter company Lions Air was founded in 1986 as a boutique aviation firm based at Zürich-Kloten airport. The company specialized in charter and business aviation, medical flights and aerial filming, for which it operated a mix of light jets, turboprops and helicopters.
Its largest aircraft was this Dornier 328, acquired in May 2004 and registered as HB-AEE. It was used for VIP and charter services, and was captured parked at Sector 7, awaiting its next sortie and sporting an elegant silver and blue livery.
HB-AEE was built for Air Engiadina in 1993, and flew with KLM alps and Swisswings before joining the Lions Air fleet. In October 2005 Lions sold HB-AEE to Iceland, and it later flew with a variety of German operators before being retired at Saabrücken in 2016, and eventually broken-up there in 2021.
