N864DA ¦ ATL 03.2000

Boeing B.777-232ER (c/n 29736/249)

Delta Air Lines

Atlanta-William B. Hartsfield International (ATL/KATL)

March 2000

Built and delivered to Delta Air Lines in 1999, N864DA was one of a total of 18 777-200s operated by the Atlanta-based carrier. Between March 2000 and January 2003, N864DA was painted in special "Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic Winter Games" colours, and named "The Soaring Spirit".

As such it was captured at the Delta maintenance area, shortly after roll-out in its special livery, and still sporting full Delta Air Lines titles. A few weeks later the titles were changed to just Delta.

N864DA continued in Delta service until late 2020, when it was withdrawn from use and parked at Victorville. In October 2022 it was acquired by the Arizona Cardinals, becoming one of five 777s in the fleet of the football club. However, only two are active, and N864DA was ferried to Marana-Pinal Airpark, where it remains parked to the present day.
