Fairchild C-82A Packet (c/n 10216)

National Museum of the United States Air Force

Dayton-Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (FFO/KFFO)

02 September 1998

Originally built for the USAF as 48-0581, this Packet spent several decades as N4752C with civil operators in Alaska, before it was acquired by Darryl Greenamyer in 1988, flown to Wright-Patterson and returned to its roots with the USAF at the Dayton museum.

The Packet was put on display as 45-57735, which originally was the serial assigned to C-82A c/n 10105. In 1994 the aircraft was repainted in its original livery and serial, and was seen on display in the open at the USAF museum at Wright-Patterson, marked as Troop Carrier CQ-581.

48-0581 is still on display at Wright-Patterson today, but is now hosted inhouse in one of the hangars of the museum.
