Antonov AN-24V (c/n 27307903)
Aviostart
Zürich-Kloten (ZRH/LSZH)
12 October 2005
Built for LOT in 1972, this AN-24 later flew in Bulgaria and Russia, before joining Sofia-based Aviostart around 2000. Registered as LZ-ASZ it was seen on a very rare visit, arriving on runway 14 after a flight from Sofia and showing Aviostart's bright new two-tone blue and yellow livery.
By 2008 the AN-24 had become Z3-AAI with Airlift Service Macedonia, and by early 2010 it was reported as flying with Pamir Airways in Afghanistan as YA-PIS. In May that year the aircraft sadly hit a mountain in bad weather while on a flight from Kunduz to Kabul. There were no survivors among the 44 occupants. The crash site was at 13,500 ft/4,100m.
