Scoperta nel 1779 da Pierre Méchain, M63 è nota come "Galassia Girasole". Si tratta di una delle galassie a spirale più belle del cielo settentrionale e si trova nella Costellazione dei Cani da Caccia. Dista circa 37 milioni di anni luce e presenta bracci piuttosto compatti e ricchi di particolari, specialmente molte regioni di idrogeno ionizzato ben visibili perché di colore rosa acceso.
18 ore di pose guidate da 10 minuti a cui ho aggiunto quasi 15 ore con filtro dual band Antlia ALP-T da 5nm, telescopio newton 150/600 con correttore Tecnosky 0.95x, camera Tecnosky Vision 571C, montatura Ioptron GEM45, elaborazione Pixinsight.
Discovered in 1779 by Pierre Méchain, M63 is known as the "Sunflower Galaxy". It is one of the most beautiful spiral galaxies in the northern sky and is located in the constellation of Canes Venatici. It is about 37 million light years away and has rather compact arms rich in details, especially many regions of ionized hydrogen clearly visible because of their bright pink color.
18 hours of 10-minute guided exposures to which I added almost 15 hours with a 5nm Antlia ALP-T dual band filter, 150/600 newton telescope with Tecnosky 0.95x corrector, Tecnosky Vision 571C camera, Ioptron GEM45 mount, Pixinsight processing.
