Bluebell Glade

IMG_1557

A woodland glade full of Bluebells, taken at Hardwick Wood (Woodland Trust), Plympton, Devon GBR.

Hardwick Wood, a 54-acre hilltop woodland east of Plymouth and part of the Woodland Trust’s Plymouth Woods, offers a peaceful retreat with seasonal displays from spring bluebells to autumn hues. Accessible from the A38 near Plympton and bordered largely by farmland, it was once part of the Georgian Saltram Estate. The wood's main track—formerly the estate’s primary access drive—is now a pathway within a historic park and garden, even after the A38 divided it from the rest of the property. From here, one can gaze north towards Dartmoor and spot the historic Boringdon Arch in the distance.
