Quarry Manager's House (North façade)

IMG_1512

Photo taken from what would have been the northern façade. The walls on three sides of the house have all but disappeared, although the foundations are still visible.

The 19th-century manager's house at Foggintor Quarry, southwest-facing with a thatched veranda, is now in ruins and largely grassed over. A survey in 2022 recorded its deteriorated state. Historic maps from the late 19th and early 20th centuries show its presence. Remnants include three small square post pads—possibly repurposed tramway setts—with iron pins, likely supporting the veranda. Much of the structure is buried under rubble, and surviving ironwork is broken or deformed.
