Taken at Burrator Reservoir, part of the South West Lakes Trust, Dartmoor National Park, Devon GBR.
Introduced from North America in the 17th century, the Canada Goose is now widespread in England and Wales, though more patchily distributed in Scotland and localised in Ireland. UK populations, which have more than doubled since 1984 due to abundant food, predator-free nesting, and minimal hunting, are largely sedentary, although many undertake moult migrations to sites such as the Beauly Firth.
