Big Bully
So there's a big gap leading up to this article.
After Media Home Entertainment imploded, I set off to write The Compleat Jason...which was going well until a misunderstanding between my agent and Paramount killed the book. I went broke, came home to Cleveland and ended up temping at Arthur Andersen (before they imploded)--note to employers, implosion only happened to 75% of the companies I worked for, not all. ;)
While I worked at Arthur Andersen, I ended up getting the job to write Wes Craven's New Nightmare, my first book to be published. This allowed me to return to LA, and I soon got a 4-book deal to write Freddy Krueger's Tales of Terror. While I wrote these, I also became a guardian for a child actor by the name of Justin John Ross.
When he got the role of a young Rick Moranis in the movie Big Bully, we ended up living in Vancouver, BC for 3-4 months. I wrote on a primordial LCD-screened donated by Justin's parents while he shot the movie (and I met the director of Friday the 13th 2 and 3, Don Knotts, and other cool people, plus the writer/director of Daredevil!).
I also became friends with an extra, who was also a local journalist, by the name of Erick Thompson. He wrote a few of the following articles. Erick is now an on-air news reporter up in BC.
