North Central Zonal Summit of Fiscal Responsibility Institutions

Stakeholders from across the North-Central region converged in Jos, Plateau State, for the North Central Zonal Summit of Fiscal Responsibility Institutions, with participants drawn from key government agencies and civil society organisations in Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau States. The summit, supported by the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC II) programme, funded by EU an implemented by International IDEA provided a platform to push for greater fiscal transparency, citizen engagement, and sustainable management of public resources. Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, through his representative, and Special Adviser, Dr Christopher Nwadoka urged state actors to prioritise inclusive fiscal decision-making and accountability in the application of public funds. The Plateau State Commissioner of Finance, who represented the Governor, echoed this call, stressing the importance of prudent spending and the need to design public projects with long-term impact in mind.
