Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference 2024

The Duty Solicitors Network (DSN), in partnership with the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) Programme, facilitated a series of legal aid clinics during the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference (AGC) 2024. Held at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, from August 26 to 29, 2024, the initiative aimed to provide free legal advice and services to citizens, particularly informal sector workers such as artisans and traders.
In addition to the clinics, the Police Duty Solicitors Scheme (PDSS), a key aspect of DSN's work, was activated through visits to two police stations—Area A Police Command and Zone 2 Police Station—where volunteers provided legal assistance to 23 suspects. This activity is in line with efforts to ensure that crime suspects are granted timely legal advice and representation, as mandated by the Legal Aid Act and Police Force Order 20.
