Senior Advisor to President Biden meets with ASU, Tempe and Mesa Leaders - Sept. 9, 2024

ASU was invited by the White House to speak on our HSI initiatives on the first day of HSI week. We met with Tom Perez, Senior Advisor and Assistant to President Biden and Director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, who emphasized ASU's strategic role as a large HSI in a growing economy with the 4th largest Latino/a population in the US. The Mayor of Mesa and the Mayor and several council representatives of Tempe and Chicanos por La Causa spoke about the impact of higher education on local communities.
