Mountain Bonsai
Mountain Bonsai
Daedunsan is a mountain in Chungcheongnam-do, a province in western South Korea. At an elevation of 878 meters, Daedunsan and the range around it has a thousand stone rods extending for some six kilometers. Amongst the rocky formations, solitary pine trees have taken root. The harsh terrain and growing conditions, though long in age, has limited their growth. Against the towering rods of stone, they take on the characteristics of the cultivated bonsai trees in Japan.
