Linger
I thought we had something real. I believed in every word, every promise. But now, all I see is the space between us, the way your hand found hers like mine never mattered. Was I blind, or were you just careful with your lies? I tell myself to walk away, to let go, but I can’t, I’m in too deep. You still have me, wrapped around your finger, holding on to something that feels like it’s already gone. And yet, I can’t cut the thread. You won’t end it, and neither can I. Do you have to let this linger?
