When Chekhov saw the long winter, he saw a time of desolation and despair, where hope seemed a distant memory. Yet we understand that winter is simply a chapter in the unbroken flow of life.

 

Standing here in this stillness, surrounded by the quiet of the season, I can't help but feel that a winter like this carries a quiet sort of grace.
