Description: Early form of magnetic storage was used primarily in the 1970s-80s. It is a thin, flexible disk. The disk could store digital data. The 8" inch was the oldest and not very durable - it could be destroyed super easily. Therefore, the 8-inch floppy was primarily used in early personal computers, mainframe systems, and minicomputers. Not much computing was being done at home at this time, so the disk was primarily used in professional industries.
