Grabbed By The Perfect Plate

Honestly, I'd be more apt to photograph a 1948 Kaiser than an Edsel station wagon...well, that is until I saw the license plate. Edsel Ford was Henry's son, and what better plate could you put on an Edsel than "Fordson" Great!

Edsel Ford must have been thrilled to have his father name a new model car after him. Well, I'm sure that feeling for Edsel did not last too long. The car was a failure, a complete sales bomb at the dealers. Because of it's somewhat "different" grill styling people were saying that "it looked like and Oldsmobile sucking on a lemon." I'm sure the folks at Oldsmobile were also not thrilled with that, but the damage to Edsel was devastating. The car was produced for three short years, 1958 - 1960, and had to be the end of Edsel Ford's high.
