A bird in the hand
I grabbed this photo with my cell phone last April, as it was was the only photo-taking device I had on me when I also had this bird on me. I was hearing some shuffling sounds outside the house and went onto the patio to investigate. This little guy (a male house finch) had gotten himself stuck right near the house (it's difficult to describe how he was stuck, so take my word for it), so I went to free him. I gently untangled him, and he sat on my hand for a few minutes, sort of in a daze. He eventually flew up into the apricot tree above us, where he sat for another few minutes, getting his bearings, before ultimately flying away, seemingly doing OK.
