A Structured Life

MONA Gallery, Hobart, Tasmania. Museum of Old and New Art.

These views can be hard to decipher. The 1st in the series is looking upwards to the ceiling with the lift well in the left bottom corner. There is actually a concrete tunnel joining two galleries that you can just catch in the bottom left.

The middle image is looking downwards from the 1st floor (you can see the light on the left pointing down) and we are looking into a dark pool of ultra still water that reflects the ceiling above. The weird elongated section in the middle right is actually a walkway that is set waist deep in the waterpool with the water lapping the very top edge so you can walk into the pool and look at the reflection of the ceiling and walls, which is very disorienting.

The third image is looking upwards to the ceiling from the foyer of the room adjoining the reflection room.

All in all, quite the experience.
