11-5-2024 saw a solar event the likes of which hadn't been seen in Australia for over 20 years. Like half the country I went out for a look at the Aurora, deciding on going out into the country away from city lights , only to be thwarted by cloud. A 300km road trip ensued trying to beat the weather. At the furtherest point of my adventure i found myself at Maslin Beach SA where I bought my first proper glimpse and image of the Aurora. Certainly not the best photo out there, and not quite what I had in mind for the night, but a fitting reward for the effort.
