Each summer, like clockwork, Ruby-throated Hummingbirds return to Ontario—the only hummingbird species found here. With their shimmer and speed, they carry with them a spark of wild magic. They travel thousands of kilometers to grace our gardens and forests for a very small period of time and I don’t let go of any opportunity that I get to spend some precious time with them

I waited patiently, positioning myself for a clear view as this tiny marvel perched just long enough to show off its iridescent throat. The light was perfect and every detail, from the glowing ruby patch to its delicate form, felt like nature’s own gemstone. My love for these incredible birds only deepens with every encounter.
