American White Pelican
This was one of two of these birds downed with injuries in this drying up lake. The other got eaten the night before by the coyote in this photostream. This one seems in much better condition. Still, without flight, once it weakens some more, the predator knows where it is. The park attendant said there's no room for these birds in the shelter. BTW, cause of injuries probably power lines.
