Conrails Legacy
HRT 1973 sits silently in Lavonia, GA. The unit still bares its (semi) blue paint and conrail logos with a CSXT marking underneath the number. About a year after the sale of Conrail to NS and CSX, this unit ended up on CSX being numbered 1973, and within two years the unit was sold to the hartwell still unchanged from when it was purchased. More recently the unit suffered a collision with the front pilot being bent inward and damaged. Im fairly certain this unit will retain this damage until its finished its service life on the railroad.
