Story of the game
WRATH: Aeon of Ruin takes place in a dark, fantastical universe. The Stranger, the protagonist of the story, arrives on the shores of the dying Old World. There he meets the Shepherd of Stray Souls, who gives him the task of dealing with the surviving Guardians.
Mechanics
WRATH: Aeon of Ruin is a first-person perspective (FPP) game. The production focuses on the elimination of hordes of fearsome enemies, giving us the use of nine types of firearms (the arsenal includes the classic Bifurcation, as well as givens such as the Retcher and Fangspitter, which use teeth and cysts from the bodies of defeated enemies as projectiles) and ten artefacts that give the Stranger supernatural abilities.
Exploration also plays an important role here, with eighteen locations to visit (three of which act as hubs connecting the other fifteen) including chilling crypts, ancient ruins and dark forests. You should keep your eyes peeled throughout the game, as there are not only keys to open passages to subsequent levels, but also various secrets hidden throughout the game world.
