K Wiring | Rex Ortho Hospital

K-Wiring, or Kirschner wires, are commonly used in fracture management to stabilize bone fragments and facilitate healing. K-wires are typically used for simple fractures, especially in long bones like the fingers, hand, and forearm. Once the fracture has sufficiently healed, K-wires are often removed in a relatively straightforward outpatient procedure. For fracture management in hand and foot, we are specializing in K-Wiring and we have showcased the world of carious K-Wiring techniques by writing the book “Principles of K-Wiring” by our Rex Hospital Professor and Head of Department of Orthopaedics Dr.C. Rex. These principles governing the use of K-Wiring in fracture management are versatile and adaptable, accommodating the unique characteristics of each fracture and patient to be carried out by our well-trained medical professionals who are experts in the field.
