Story: "Memories of highways pass across her windscreen and rear window as, like a scuttled ship of the outback, this ute's life as transport ends and her decaying body becomes a home and sanctuary for wildlife. Through her grass trees grow with skirts for crows and black prince cicadas to perch, and trunks of floury barker cicadas to hug. Dubble drummer cicadas, a frilled neck lizard and western dragon sit atop her, while possums, bandicoots and brush mice enjoy nook and cranny homes as wallaby, emu, dingo and wombat seek shade beneath."
