The completion of the Grønningen lighthouse station in 1878 marked the beginning of a new building tradition in the history of lighthouses: concrete was introduced as a building material.
After the automation of the Grønningen lighthouse, volunteers took over its operation.
This was the first time in Norway that a lighthouse station was used as an overnight accommodation option for the general public
Die Fertigstellung der Leuchtturmstation Grønningen 1878, stellte den Beginn einer neuen Bautradition in der Leuchtfeuergeschichte dar: der Beton hielt als Baumaterial seinen Einzug.
Nach der Automatisierung des Leuchtturms Grønningen, übernahmen Freiwillige den Betrieb.
Zum ersten Mal wurde hiermit in Norwegen eine Leuchtfeuerstation in ein Übernachtungsangebot für die Allgemeinheit verwandt.
