Temperance

This building on three storeys with a good basement was an hotel for the Temperance Society. Located between the castle and Judges Lodgings. Now residential. Lancaster is renowned for embracing religious reform. An ancestor of mine established a number of Temperance centers in New Zealand where road builders were paid in rum rather than money. The world baffles me most of the time.
