Stonehenge intellect

I opened my model of the restored Stonehenge and immediately got down to numbers. I wonder if numbers were used by hunter-gathers? I think of Stonehenge and Göbekli Tepe and the Giza pyramid. All around 10 to 12 thousand years ago. After the comet impact that led to 1300 years of varying darkness. And since then the longest run of Earth stability that is known.

I counted the smallest stones first and found a circle of 57 on the outside and a U shape of 19 on the inside. 19 struck me as odd, but add 19 to 57 and you get 76 which extensive research down at the local library with cards and cross-indexing realised that 76 is ‘an angel number’ some kind of spiritual completion. There are also a total of 76 vertical and horizontal stones if you include the one upright alone. Alone.

I like that word spiritual. Not the hocus-pocus nonsense more the non-materialistic way of being. Even non-scientific. Having been to the site by train I can confirm how huge the pillars and cross beams are even after thousands of years on a hill open to the elements. Göbekli Tepe had their equally huge pillars carved with illustrations and deliberately buried to preserve everything. Giza had a ceramic type of cover only loosened some 400 years ago in an earthquake.

The biggest, most important aspect of Stonehenge is the fact that it exists. Even with the far more conservative estimate of 5000 years ago you have to wonder how and why it was done. Our material outlook can not fathom its depths. Yet humans and other life forms saw life re-forming in the raw. It needed management.

Whether you believe in evolution on steroids or that there was some intervention from superior life forms which became extinct in this new material planet it is a fascinating journey we are on. A mere 12000 years on. We have lost our way.
