Spring Bear

As the snow still carpets the ground, I eagerly await the bears' hibernation, a signal that I can finally leave the bear spray behind on my hikes. Typically, in May, we are graced with the sight of at least one bear —a brief but thrilling reminder that they have emerged from their winter slumber. This particular bear was no exception. It paid a visit to our bird feeders, lingered for a couple of hours, and then set off in search of a more delectable meal, perhaps a fresh fish.
