Mom, feed us!

Ravens in the Interior start courtship in mid-January, and by mid-March, adult pairs roost near their nesting sites. The female lays 3 to 7 eggs, which she incubates while the male provides food. The chicks hatch after about three weeks, grow quickly, and leave the nest around four weeks later. In the Interior, young ravens typically fledge by the first week of June.

As brilliant birds, ravens learn through observation, solve problems, and recognize individual humans and other ravens. They are playful, often carrying and exchanging sticks and feathers in flight and sliding down snowfields. Their playful interactions with wolves and bears may also aid their scavenging efforts.
