Freya Ridings - You Mean the World to Me 🎢

What I value the most in this life is freedom and the responsibility that comes with it. I cannot understand that we use our freedom to coerce, to threaten, to ridicule, to despise, to deny someone else's freedom and right to live in peace. Violence is any attack to this fundamental right we should all possess as humans. I said it many times already, and I will say it many more: I do not understand violence. I do not understand any form of violence. I do not understand any form of aggression. Violence is a foul word said to hurt; violence is speaking loud to mute the other; violence is raising a hand; violence is putting chains to someone's freedom and independence; violence is using, abusing, bullying, disregarding, showing contempt, disrespecting, controlling, laughing at someone; violence is not regarding and treating others as equals.

I do not understand violence and I am horrified of violence of men against women and children, any form of physical and/or psychological violence. I am father of the most precious and amazing woman I ever met and will ever meet. She is the most beautiful, talented, smart and caring woman and I couldn't be prouder of her. I did my best to raise her to be independent, a critical free-thinker, compassionate, proud owner of her freedom and its great responsibility. I don't want anybody to treat her less than that, let alone use violence, any form of violence, against her. And what is true for my daughter, is true for every woman and every child in the World.

All men are the sons of women, of beautiful, talented, smart and caring women, and many of us are fathers too of amazing girls who have every right to be free spirits and enjoy a dignified life in peace, to pursue their dreams freely, taking and exercising responsibility, unthreatened and feeling protected, supported and valued by us. We, sons and fathers, must take pride of who we are, of our strength to give always support to our partners, girl friends, mothers, sisters, daughters, or any woman and child we meet.

I do not understand violence. I do not understand violence against women and children. But I know I am utterly and radically against it.
