Oenanthe oenanthe (french name : Traquet motteux) - Au dessus du Col de la Colombière, Haute-Savoie, France
During the nesting season in the mountains, like others, these Wheatears are numerous, visible, and vocal.
This species displays a well-defined breeding plumage in summer, different from its winter plumage when it is found in Africa or elsewhere for the winter. At this time, interactions between males and females are varied, involving gifting and courtship displays. At rest it likes to stand on the rocks.
All of this occurs in the open sky at quite a high altitude (up to 2000 meters), in a habitat that allows for easy observation.
So, one just needs to sit and watch what is happening around to find and observe a few individuals.

Pendant la saison de nidification en montagne, comme d'autres ces Traquets motteux sont nombreux, visibles et vocaux.
Cette espèce arbore un plumage nuptial bien marqué, différent de celui d'hiver quand il se trouve en Afrique ou ailleurs pour passer l'hiver. En ce moment les interactions entre mâle et femelle sont variées, entre offrande et parades nuptiales.
Tout ceci a lieu à ciel ouvert à assez haute altitude (jusqu'à 2000 mètres), dans un habitat permettant une observation facile. Il y juste donc à s'asseoir et a regarder ce qu'il se passe autour pour trouver et observer quelques individus .
