This store in the coastal community of Los Osos (you can tell it's coastal by the fog late in the evening) was planned by Lucky and construction was started by them, however, this site was divested in favor of the nearby Morro Bay Albertsons in 1999. The store opened as a Ralphs in 2000. The store did open with Ralphs decor at the time, but it retains a Lucky layout to this day.
This store is the second of the two remaining San Luis Obispo County Ralphs locations that remain open. Most other Ralphs that took over former Lucky and Albertsons units in the county shuttered not so long after they took over their respective stores, leaving this Ralphs, and the San Luis Obispo store as the only two remaining in the county.
This was remodeled to neighborhood in 2022 after being one of the last stores remaining with late 90's Ralphs decor. It does still keep the same floors from it's opening.
