Great Egret
It’s been a while since my last wildlife photo walk so this week with good sunny weather I took the telephoto and teleconverter for a test in the national wildlife refuges in North Carolina. Egrets and Herons are particularly difficult to photograph, they are smart and alert creatures that can distinguish cars and humans. As soon as I stepped outside the vehicle they flew away. Soon enough I figured the trick is to stay in the car and use the window. It was an awkward position but I was able to observe the egret much longer this way.
