A pair of Grande GP40s are on an empty ballast train at the west siding switch of Elk Grove California. The pair will continue down The Valley a few more miles to Galt, where they will run around the string of empty ballast cars, and head east in the foothills of the California gold country to a ballast pit near Ione.
