Distributor modification 1
S.E.V. Marchal distributor. Citroen GS X2.
Modification to make adjustment of points simpler.
Cassette points are not set by gap, but by dwell angle. On early versions of the SEV Marchal distributor, adjustment was by removal of cap (and sometimes body, given its location) and to turn the thumbscrew a by clicks in either direction depending on dwell angle required. Later versions had a hole in the body in which a 3mm allen key was inserted making cap removal unnecessary.
I decided to drill a hole around 3.5 - 4.0mm to save some hassle. Initially, I started with a 2.0mm pilot hole and a steady hand. Going up in 0.5mm steps until I got to 3.5mm. Careful measurement is required.
