An electrical engineering draftsperson (ANZSCO 312311) draws details of circuit breakers, plans, and drawings of electrical installations and circuitry.
Helping electrical engineers and engineering technologists with the design and layout of electrical installations, including substations, switchgear, cabling systems, and motor control systems.
Gathering of data, conducting tests and complicated calculations, graphical representation of results, and creating charts and tabulations. This is done through CAD and related programs, with data, calculations, and standards to perform appropriate installations to comply with safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.
Conducting an effective meeting with the clients and engineers to ensure they understand the project requirements.
Assessing that the electrical plans comply with all the regulatory and safety requirements. Examination and testing of electrical systems installed to determine their functioning and safety.
