More berry excitement
Similar to yesterday’s Downy Woodpecker, this juvenile Swainson‘s thrush couldn’t resist the attraction of the red elderberry‘s fruit. I debated the species a bit, as this bird was missing the distinctive supraoral line of the Swainson‘s thrush but the alternative gray-cheeked thrush (Catharus minimus) does not breed this far south, and overall looks much paler.
