Discussions between PM Modi and Rishi Sunak Regarding the UK-India Free Trade Agreement
Hiroshima: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his British colleague Rishi Sunak reviewed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations, the India-UK free trade deal, innovation, and research.
On the eve of the G-7 Summit, UK PM Sunak and PM Modi met in Hiroshima and spoke about a variety of topics. PM Modi posted on Twitter, "We discussed enhancing innovation, cooperation in trade, science, and other similar sectors."
The two presidents discussed their Extensive Strategic Partnership while also reviewing the status of the FTA talks between the UK and India. According to the official statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, leaders "decided to deepen cooperation across a wide range of fields, including commerce & investment, higher education, research & technology, and people-to-people connections.
By making it simpler and more affordable for more companies to conduct international business, a trade agreement between the UK and India will boost economic growth and jobs in both nations and contribute to the diversification of supply chains. India and the UK held their seventh round of FTA negotiations in London from February 6th to 10th.
