Partial view of an antique power generator

Detail from the old power generator for the Atocha Railway Station located in a 19th century Neo-Mudejar building now turned into an alternative art gallery. The building was also home to workshops where railway machinery was built and repaired. The term Mudejar comes from the Arab “mudazzan” which means “those who were allowed to stay”, referring to Muslims who were allowed to remain in Christian Spain after the 15th century expulsion of Jews and Muslims. The Neomudejar Contemporary Art Centre opened in 2013. Calle de Antonio Nebrija, Madrid, Spain, 2024. Taken with an iPhone 11 camera.
