Warsaw - the Palace of Culture and Science

or Pałac Kultury i Nauki - a gift from the USSR to its new Polish satelite state, built between 1952 and 1955.

 

It is a sister building to to the Academy of Sciences in Riga, and a number in Moscow and Kiev.

 

Despite the régime that built them, I love these buildings.
