Warsaw - the Palace of Culture and Science, top storeys

The wider tier at the base of this picture provides a wonderful viewing platform over the city of Warsaw.

 

The decorations on the roof-lines were inspired by Polish renaissance styles in towns such as Zamość. All these Soviet-style prestige buildings that were erected in the subject territories at this time were supposed to reflect elements of local design.
