Note on reverse: "Kapelle in bayerisch-Bazentin, ganz in der Nähe der Beob. Stelle unserer Batt." - 'Chapel in Bazentin (held by the Bavarians), very close to the observation post of our battery.'

No 4 of a set of 7 views of the Somme area by E. Rössner, ca. 1915. The color prints have the format of postcards, but they lack the usual division on reverse. They were apparently not produced commercially, but perhaps by a regimental print shop. A soldier added explanatory notes on reverse by hand.
