Women with young children attend appointments at the UNFPA-supported mobile health clinic in Mueda District.

 

The Mobile Brigade is led by focal point Dr Zuria Alberto and is assisted by Dr Angelo Antonio from DPS Mueda (Provincial Directorate of Health). The Brigade features a UNFPA-supported mobile health clinic which is driven by Paulo. It is staffed by Juliana who is a nurse from AMODEFA (The Mozambican Association for Family Development). Juliana and the clinic's facilities are able to provide basic and emergency obstetric care, ante- and postnatal care, family planning, HIV service provision, and cervical cancer screening. Services are provided to members of remote communities, often impacted by conflict in the north of Mozambique. which can difficult to reach, especially during the rainy season.

 

The mobile clinic's activities are funded by the Governments of Norway and Austria, and UN CERF.
