Medieval architecture, Miltenberg

What makes the charm of Miltenberg is the old urban architecture which is made up of at least 100 half-timbered houses on narrow streets. Most of these houses date back to the 14th and 15th centuries. The reason they are there for our enjoyment is because Miltenberg, unlike most cities in Germany, suffered very little damage during the second World War. However, the town is prone to periodic flooding whenever the Main overflows its banks. This can cause severe damage of a different kind.
